People working in a new role
Whenever we start a new job there is always a period, after initial training and induction, where individuals have adjustments to make. Coaching really helps people focus on the performance aspect of their roles, helps them gain awareness of what they need to learn, do and improve; it is also a vital support mechanism outside of the line-management relationship (where often people are less likely to ask for help, say that they ‘don’t know’ or express any concerns or issues early in a relationship). This individual may be a new front line sales person, a new first-line manager, or a more senior individual new in role. It may also be a person who is familiar with the role they have, but in a different organisational context. External coaching is an excellent mechanism to get these people performing at heir peak at the earliest possible opportunity.
